In Shijiazhuang, the Sunac Center Residential Landscape project, designed by U.P.SPACE Landscape Architecture Design, puts forward the concept of "new French plus" for the first time, upgrading the French style recognized by the public and achieving a beautiful community with temperament, warmth, and interest on a humanized scale. The project focuses on high-quality spatial structure, real humanized design, and excellent construction quality, bringing owners a luxurious temperament and a rich garden experience.
The project advocates for the integrated construction of Low Impact Development (LID) and landscape, guided by the concept of LID, which has the characteristics of Biophilic Design. This approach allows residents to have contact with nature nearby, with a wild and natural scenery right downstairs. It eliminates the need to travel to the suburbs to experience the beauty of flowers, birds, fish, and insects in their natural habitat.
The Sunac Center Residential Landscape spans a total area of 230,806 square meters, with 201,179 square meters dedicated to landscape design. The project team, led by U.P.SPACE Landscape Architecture Design and including Zou Yubo, Gao Tiankuo, Lin Zhangyi, Wang Zheng, Tan Binjie, Jiang Xue, and Yang Xiaohui, worked tirelessly for 1000 days to create this stunning residential landscape.
The design of the Sunac Center Residential Landscape focuses on providing good accommodation for residents of all ages, meeting their life needs, social needs, fitness needs, and various hobbies and activities. The road network was optimized to break through spatial gaps and form a winding ring road system. Each house is a small world of its own, with over 30 different designs incorporated into the project.
The project started in August 2017 in Beijing and was completed in July 2020 in Hebei. Extensive research was conducted to ensure the humanization scale of the design. The community is connected by various supporting facilities, such as a leisure lawn, fountain square, children's playground, and sports preheating area, all carefully designed to create a scenic fitness runway that allows residents to relax their eyes and soul after a busy day of work.
One of the challenges faced by the designers was the maintenance cost of the waterscape in northern China. To overcome this, the project skillfully controlled the area of the waterscape, ensuring a considerable scenery even in winter when the waterscape is emptied. This not only reduces maintenance costs but also provides a visually appealing landscape throughout the year.
In the limited greening site of the residential area, the design team combined the concept of LID from the beginning. The LID facilities integrated with the landscape and road make the whole residential environment more sustainable and provide a natural and beautiful life experience for the residents.
The Sunac Center Residential Landscape, with its ecological focus and humanized design, has received recognition for its excellence. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Landscape Planning and Garden Design category in 2021. This award is a testament to the project's well-designed, practical, and innovative approach that meets professional and industrial requirements. It integrates industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, contributing to a better world.
